Maya Bay is known for bird sightings and the best time of the year is spring. The place is home to many endangered species of birds such as finfoots.

Tank trips are also organised and the King Cruiser is a very famous one that will take you to wrecks and to Anemone Reef. You can also try your hand at snorkelling and Long beach is a preferred spot for such activities. The Adventure Club organises snorkelling activities where you can view sharks.
You can also try your hand at sailing in Maya Bay area. A lot of tour operators provide boats for hire and some even have the option of shorter trips. Dragon Heart is the best place to visit if you are in the mood for some sailing.
Since Maya Bay is a very famous tourist spot, accommodation can be a bit expensive. During tourist season, prices can skyrocket so it’s best to book your tour as early as possible. Some cheaper options include guesthouses and dormitories if you are on a strict budget. Rice noodles and Indian style curry is the most famous of all cuisines on Phi Phi but take care since Thai food can be a little too spicy for some.
